The Big Crocodile at Normanton is a life-sized replica of Krys, the largest saltwater crocodile ever officially measured. Krys was shot in the Norman River in 1957 and measured an astounding 8.63 meters (28 feet 4 inches) - longer than most buses. This incredible sculpture allows visitors to comprehend the sheer size of these prehistoric predators that still inhabit Australia's tropical waterways. Walking beneath Krys's enormous jaws is a humbling experience that brings home the reality of sharing our country with the world's largest reptiles.
